Astrovisuals Planisphere Star Disc
This double-sided Star Disc Planisphere is specially created for use in the Southern Hemisphere, latitudes 25° to 45° South (i.e. Australia, New Zealand, South America, South Africa etc.), designed by Wil Tirion to be clear and uncluttered.
A Planisphere is essentially a star chart that functions as to display the visible stars in the sky for any time and date. Its purpose is to assist you in learning how to recognize stars and constellations, and has proven to be a big help for beginners.
As an analogue computing instrument, it consists of two 27x24 cm adjustable disks that rotate on a common pivot, and will contain the brightest stars and constellations visible from the Southern Hemisphere.
This Star Disc comes in clear PVC plastic, printed in black for maximum visibility and durability. With a reference guide with a list of stars, binoculars objects and planet positions, the Star Disc is an excellent kick-off to the world of astronomy.
