SkyWatcher 127mm Solar Filter for Maksutov Telescopes
The Skywatcher 127mm Solar Filter for Maksutov Telescopes enables observation of the sun and solar phenomena. It attaches to the front of the scope and provides ample filtering to make the sun safe for viewing. The high quality film significantly reduces the intensity of the sunlight while producing a natural white image of the sun. The image has very high levels of contrast enabling the observer to see finer details of the corona and sun spots.
The Skywatcher 127mm Solar Filter performs just as well as high quality plane-parallel glass filters. Metallic coatings are uniformly distributed along both sides of the film’s surface producing excellent color balance from edge to edge. Completely safe and durable. The film transmits 1/100,000 of visible light (.001%) while reflecting (blocking) 99.999%of unwanted light. The film significantly decreases harmful ultraviolet rays and infrared light.
