Gerber's Defender series comes in two sizes: large and compact, yet both tethers were made to guide. Latched by the side control carabiner made of anodized aluminum, it releases tension and maximizes utility by transferring the weight tension of the tether onto the grip of your palm. Gerber Defender Fishing Tether – Large offers a 48 inch (121.92cm) Dyneema cable that can hold larger capacity tools, and a 36 inch (91.44cm) for a compact size. Its broad body retention clip guarantees that the tether won't run, including and especially under drench environments. A lanyard hole enables multiple wielding options, you can add a carabiner or a chain ring to it and secure the tool onto your bag or trousers.

Only Gerber Defender Fishing Tether – Large is designed with a proprietary side release lock. When not use, the tool will remained locked in place. The only time if it's released will be the result of it getting accidentally snagged on a branch, or a twig, but its override attribute shall come forward to prevent impending damage. A patented dual line vises can be seen on each side of the mouth, its purpose is to release strain in a matter of seconds.

All Gerber tools are designed for long-lasting shelf life. However, to keep it in tiptop condition, be advised to wash this tool with fresh water and dry extensively with a clean towel. Do apply oil to the hinges and movable parts in a consistent basis.
