The Celestron CGEM II GoTo EQ Mount with Tripod is renowned among the astronomy and astrophotography communities with its modern, eye-catching, and bold appearance. With a generous payload of 18kg and slewing speed of 5 degrees per second, it is able to securely carry Celestron's high-end SCT light tube (up to 11 inches) in a controlled manner, which is absolutely perfect for celestial observation, as well as astrophotography.
The upsized Altitude and Azimuth adjustment knobs provide an ergonomic and sturdy grip which allows quick and simple polar alignment adjustment. To make stargazing smooth and easy, the Celestron CGEM II GoTo EQ Mount with Tripod has extended its versatility to accept Vixen (CG-5) and Losmandy (CGEM), which allows quick mounting of an optical tube assembly (OTA) without an additional adapter. The internal RA and DEC motor wiring provide a neat appearance, making it simple to set up.
Thanks to Celestron's innovative All-Star Polar alignment program, you can accurately polar align to any celestial object, even if you can't see them. Another feature of the CGEM II is the Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PEC). It allows users to train out the periodic error of the worm gear while retaining PEC recordings. The CGEM II mount also includes the NexStar+ powerful database with over 40,000 objects, including planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, and a complete Messier catalog. It can also be programmed with up to 100 custom user-defined objects and enhanced information about more than 200 objects.
